Welcome!

On behalf of the Minnesota Astronomical Society welcome to our web site!  Please accept our invitation and join us in our explorations of the cosmos, either as a visitor to one of our many events or as a member of the Society.


The Sept. 4 monthly MAS meeting will be held at the Fairview Community Center in Roseville, starting at 7 PM.

The REI / Astronomy Magazine /MAS 'Camping With The Stars' weekend was a huge success. Thank you, organizers and volunteers for all your hard work!!

"Thank you" to all of our volunteers and guests for making our 2008, first annual event such a success!  See you next year!

Star Party Update

Star Parties
August 29 at Cherry Grove (Fall Mini Messier Marathon), with Aug 30 as the backup.
August 29-30 at LLCC (Fall Mini Messier Marathon on the first clear night)

Star parties are weather dependent. You can call the MAS Message line at 952-467-2426 after 3PM on the day of the event for the final status of the star party.

Onan Public Night
The next Onan Public Night is Saturday Sept, 6. Public night events begin at 7PM and last until 10PM or possibly later. The are held whether it is clear or cloudy. There is no fee for attending and members, guests and visitors are all invited. (Carver County parks may charge a nominal parking fee.)

Next Meeting

Monthly meetings of the Minnesota Astronomical Society are held on the first Thursday of the month from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitors and guests are welcome to the meeting as well as MAS members.

The next meeting of the society will be on Thursday, September 4th. We will be holding the meeting at the Fairview Community Center in Roseville, at 1910 County Road B West. The topic will be committee and observing site reports and a continued general discussion of MAS plans and goals. We want input from everyone as this important meeting.
